Scubalamp (or SUPE, which is shortened from Scubalamp Underwater Photography Equipment) is a Guang Dong based company that has very quickly raised their profile in the UW photography world by bringing out new interesting products into the market. The company is specialised in powerful video lights and arm systems with hard to beat price tags. Here are just a few examples of their products that are now sold, or will be sold, by Mike’s Dive Cameras

The V4K and V6K video lights.
    SUPE V4K 7600-lumen Video Light

The V series video lights are a new range of SUPE lights that combine high-quality LED COB light sources with surprisingly affordable pricing. The light bodies are made from solid aluminium and come with glass dome ports that keep the beam angle super-wide even in water. The high CRI (Ra96) light sources provide a massive amount of power with natural 5600k colour temperature. The V4K model max output is 7600-lumens and the and the V6K max output is 12000-lumen. Both the lights are the same size and can also be used with the longer pro battery packs to double to burn time. All SUPE lights come also with handy carry cases and 1” ball mounts as standard

The P53 video / strobe light
    SUPE P53 Video/Strobe Light Silver

The P53 light is a UW photographer’s multi-function light for both video and stills work. It boasts a central 5000-lumen COB LED light source with high CRI rating or Ra96. The central LED can also provide a 10000-lumen strobe, which is synced from the camera’s onboard flash via the supplied fibre optic cable. The light also includes red and blue beams that can be used as a spotting light. The P53 unit manages to combine both the video and strobe functions to a good-looking aluminium body that is available in black or silver. It’s a true all-in-one unit.

    The MS20 snoot light
    SUPE MS20 Snoot Macro light

The small M20 macro photography snoot light gives out a 5-degree beam angle in four different colours; White, Red, Green and Violet. Due to the optical lens construction, its light beam is very sharp and gives a spot diameter of 30mm from 100mm distance. This 1200 lumen light uses a simple 18650 type Li-ion battery and comes with a YS-mount for easy arm system attachment. All in all, it’s a perfect little light to get started with snoot macro photography.

    Arm bits and bobs

SUPE also makes arm parts and accessories for housings and light rigging. Most notably they offer a unique range of improved compression clamps for 1” ball arms. These new clamps allow high-precision tightening and improved arm movement in water. SUPE also offers detachable arms sections for strobes and lights for easy off-camera lighting. Another great thing about the company’s arm systems are that they also come in fancy colours like bring red and gold. Go on and brighten up your underwater camera set-up. Why everything always must be black?
